Call for Papers

The 2nd International Symposium on Chinese Language, Literature, and Culture

Brasov, Romania

October 16 – 18, 2026

Transilvania University of Brasov invites scholars, researchers and experts to participate in an event dedicated to academic exchange in the fields of Chinese language, literature, and culture.

We welcome submissions of previously unpublished original research articles in English that engage to one or more of the following topics:


• Modern or contemporary Chinese literature
• Chinese linguistics
• Translation practice and theory
• Chinese literary translation
• Second language acquisition of Chinese
• Cross-cultural and translation studies
• Chinese culture and civilization

The symposium will be held from October 16 to 18, 2026, at Transilvania University of Brasov, Romania.

The selected papers (after peer-review) will be published in a special issue of the Bulletin of Transilvania University of Brașov: Series IV. Philology. Cultural Studies. The journal is B category for Humanities (Romanian Research Council) and is  currently indexed in six international databases: EBSCOCEEOLERIH PlusLibrary of CongressCrossref, and WorldCat.

Guidelines for Submissions:

        • Abstracts in English should be 

300-500 words 

      in length and include positions, affiliations, and email addresses for all authors.
        • Deadline for abstract submissions: 

July 15, 2026

        • Notification of acceptance of the proposals: 

July 30, 2026.
